President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, confirmed during his reception of delegations from the League of Lebanese Universities, the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate, and the Lebanese Maronite Order, that the formula of the framework does not legitimize the continuation of the Israeli occupation in Lebanon, but rather stipulates enabling the Lebanese army to extend its control over the entire Lebanese territory. President Aoun stressed that the sovereign decision to separate the Lebanese track from the Iranian-American track constitutes a problem for some who are accustomed to being under tutelage that controls Lebanon, decides for it, and negotiates in its name. Aoun stressed that Lebanon is a democratic country that respects freedom of opinion, but there are red lines that should not be crossed, such as seeking sedition or overthrowing the government in the street. He added that strength does not lie in the ability to wage war or ensure its continuation, but rather in the courage to end it through negotiation, which is a battle without bloodshed. He pointed out that no one doubts the role of the Lebanese army, stressing that it will bear its full responsibilities in achieving security and stability in the south after the withdrawal of Israeli forces. For his part, the President of the Association of Lebanese Universities, Dr. Elias Al-Warraq, said: “The salvation of the nation comes from the will of its people, and our hope remains in your dedication to serving this nation from the position of the Presidency of the Republic, just as you were dedicated to serving it from the position of army command.” In turn, the General President of the Lebanese Maronite Order, Abbot Hadi Mahfouz, affirmed his support for the President of the Republic in his endeavor to lead Lebanon on the path of progress, saying: “We are by your side in leading our country towards a glorious path that reflects the path of regression, war, devastation and fragmentation.”
